Should I Do Anything Before I Go in to the Office?
Before you go into the office for a consultation it will be beneficial to remove any nail polish. With many of these conditions or issues, looking at the nail and nail bed will be necessary and a doctors won’t be able to see the nail if nail polish is worn. Make sure any physical spots on the scalp or in the hair are visible during the exam. Pay special attention to any spot or mole which has changed or has been itching or bleeding. It is also important to be honest throughout the exam. You may want to prepare yourself for questions prior to the exam to help you feel less hesitant.
